I am writing on behalf of my husband David and I to say a huge thank you for your perseverance in taking this case through to a successful conclusion.

Like many others we have experienced no end of emotional distress and financial hardship in pursuing the developer for a refund of our deposit. What made things worse is that we spent money with lawyers and won our original court case and yet were still left without repayment. Until now it had seemed that justice would never prevail!

It is individuals and organisations such as yours who play the long game who are so important in cases like this, and for that we are truly grateful. I hope that the energies invested have resulted in other success stories too so that it really is a win win all round.

2 years ago we were contacted by a British company Reclaim in Spain who advised us of a law in Spain which allowed us to reclaim our investment through the Spanish bank in which we made most of our transactions. They suggested that we could once again try to reclaim our investment using the Spanish law company Abolex led by Martin de la Herran. Although the case took almost 2 years to go through the courts in Spain we were eventually awarded €61000 plus costs of €10000. The agreement was based on a no win no fee basis with the companies representing us.

We were overjoyed at the result as we had given up on any possibility of recovering any of our investment and as such we are delighted to recommend Abolex and their staff to anyone in a similar position or indeed anyone requiring a reliable and efficient LAW Company in Spain.

We contacted them after a little article I read in the papers about the fact that the Supreme Court had awarded in favour of people who had lost their deposit on property that had never been completed. We were in this situation, having put down a deposit on an apartment in a complex in Denia in 2005 where the developers went bankrupt before the apartment or complex were completed.

However, Martin has recently managed to get an excellent out of Court settlement for us from the Spanish bank involved – so not only have we got a substantial amount refunded but we didn’t have to wait for a lengthy Court process to take place.

Throughout the whole process, Martin was amazing – he replied so promptly to all our e-mails and queries and kept us informed all the way through in clear and perfect English.

Abolex work on a “no win no fee” basis and were worth every penny of their fee deducted from our settlement.

We simply cannot thank Martin enough for recovering our money which we thought was lost for ever.
